Weekend Wrap-up and Upcoming Events

Updated: Jul 3

We had a fantastic weekend at The Orchard last weekend! The air was a bit chilly, but that didn't stop the droves of people who came out to support our local businesses. Over 20 ladies took a pumpkin succulent centerpiece class from artist and teacher, Tara Holeman, while hundreds of people milled around the orchard, buying apples, taking in the sights, and enjoying their day. New business, Bros Smashburgers, was a smashing success with crowds for their homemade artisan pickles and special sauce drizzled over sizzling smashburgers. They sold out of food by 2pm, which makes me think we need them back as soon as humanly possible! A HUGE thank you to Tara Holeman and Matt Simons for making it all happen.

We have three more apples coming off of the trees this week (Jonathan, Empire, Mutsu), so be sure to come see us this weekend to sample all of the different types! We'd love some help with a Trunk or Treat here at the farm on October 31st. See the flyer below and text me, call me, or email me at (559) 890-1022, or tami@meadowlakesorchard.com, if you'd like to participate.

You're also invited to hear forestry and fire expert, John Mount, speak about healthy forest ecosystems on Friday, October 13th at 6:00PM. John worked for Southern California Edison for 31 years, managing the company’s 20,000 acres of private land surrounding Shaver Lake. He has a total of 57 years in forest management starting with the Forest Service and then 15 years in private practice. Smores will be available fireside. See us in the gift store to sign up, or text (559) 890-1022. Admission is $5 per adult, kids are free!

Tara Holeman is back teaching more art classes on November 11th! This class will use painting as a medium, and holiday themes such as reindeer, snowman, or Santa Claus will be selected. The cost is $45 per person and all materials are included in the class. We have a sign up sheet in the gift shop, or you can text or email (559) 890-1022 tami@meadowlakesorchard.com.

Please keep checking this page for more information, or sign up to our email list to receive special emails about new products and events.

We're open this week on Tuesday and Wednesday from 8AM-1PM and Thursday-Sunday from 8AM-4:30PM. We will have apples for sale every day except Monday, and pastries, pies, and coffee available from Thurs.-Sun.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
